Data processing activities

  1. Newsletter

    We collect and process the Personal Data that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our email newsletter. This data may include:

    This data is collected and processed for the purpose of sending you our newsletter. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR) as provided in the opt-in confirmation part of our newsletter sign-up process.     If you have subscribed to our newsletter, each time you receive a newsletter from us, we may collect and process Personal Data. This data may include:

    1. The date and time you opened the email
    2. What (if any) links or URLs you accessed from our newsletter
    3. The location it was accessed from

    This data is collected and processed for the purpose of improving the content of our newsletter. The legal basis for this processing is your consent as provided in the opt-in confirmation part of our newsletter sign-up process (Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR).

  2. Defence of legal claims and compliance

    We may process any of your Personal Data where it is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests (Art.6 (1) f) GDPR), namely the protection and assertion of our legal rights, your legal rights and the legal rights of others.

    Further, we may process your Personal data where such processing is necessary in order for us to comply with a legal obligation (Art. 6 (1) c) GDPR) to which we are subject. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests, namely the protection and assertion of our legal rights.

  3. Google Fonts

    We use google Fonts based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR) to fonts used our Site. The provider is Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

  4. Cookies

    In addition to the processing purposes mentioned above, we also use cookies if this is technically necessary to offer our website or certain content or if we are obliged to do so. The legal base for the use of necessary cookies is § 25 (2) No. 2 TTDSG.

    Cookies that are not technically necessary (e.g. for analysis purposes) are only processed with your consent. The legal basis for this is § 25 (1) 1 TTDSG.

    Unless otherwise stated in this privacy policy, cookies remain stored as long as necessary to fulfill the respective processing purposes.   5. Recruiting Activities

    If you send your application to, by e-mail or by other means, we will process the applicant data for the purpose of the application process. The legal basis for this processing is the fact that we carry out pre-contractual measures or fulfill a contract concluded with you upon your request as a data subject (Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR). Furthermore, the processing is based on relevant national regulations on data protection in the employment context. This applicant data may include:

    5. Home address
    6. Education/qualifications/certificates; and/or
    7. Former employers

    Your applicant data will be stored for a period sufficient to enable us to review your application. If your application is not successful or if you withdraw your application, your applicant data will be erased after three months, unless further retention can be based on other legal grounds (e.g. to exercise our legal rights or to comply with applicable law). You may also agree in a separate statement that your applicant data will be included in our applicant pool after completion of the application process (Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time by contacting us at the contact details provided. Your data will then be deleted immediately.

  6. CosmWasm Academy

    If you register for one of our online courses as part of the Online Training Academy, we will process your data for the purpose of your participation in such an online course. This processing is based on the contract concluded with us to pursue online training (Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR). This data may include:

    1. Name
    2. Email address
    3. GitHub Handle
    4. IP address
    5. Date and time of registration

    Your data will be stored for a period sufficient to enable us to provide you with your registered online course via our Online Training Academy. After you completed your registered course or withdraw from your registration, your data will be deleted, unless further retention can be based on other legal grounds (e.g. to exercise our legal rights or to comply with applicable law). You may also agree in a separate statement that your data will be included in our applicant pool after completion of the online course (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time by contacting us at the contact details provided. Your data will then be deleted immediately.

Use of 3rd party application

Brevo: We use Brevo to send out newsletters to subscribers. Brevo allows us to prepare customized Emails and manage our subscribers. We do not store any information collected by Brevo. GoHire: GoHire is a platform to manage your application and our recruitment process. GoHire is bound by a data processing agreement. Details of how GoHire platform uses your personal data can be found in the GoHire Privacy Policy: https://gohire.io/privacy.

At the end of our website we link to our social media profiles. Those services might also collect Personal Data.

Regular deletion of personal data

Unless a specific duration of data storage is specified in this Privacy Policy, we will only process your data as long as this is necessary for the respective purposes or as long as there are legal retention obligations. After the respective processing purpose ceases to apply and retention obligations end, your data will be routinely deleted.

Your right as a data subject

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 1 January 2023 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
